Max Bainbridge, FIG (Plus Pink), 2013, birchwood ply, inkjet print on archive paper, strip-light, 210x110cm
Max Bainbridge works with large format prints combined with built structures that explore physical transference from object to image. The physicality of objects can be transferred to the printed surface of an image, giving the image the same weight and objectness as the thing it depicts. Does the image then become a stand in? Does it become an object? Or does it become something new and other?
Max Bainbridge lives and works in London. He has BA Fine Art, Chelsea College of Art and Design, London 2013. Recent exhibitions include Object-monopoly, Post-Space Gallery, Online, International 2013; Translations, Triangle Space Gallery, London, 2012; Pink Orb Gallery, London 2011 and And Forget, Crypt Space, London 2010.
