Rachael Adams,The Old is Dying and the New Cannot be Born; In this Interregnum a Great Variety of Morbid Symptoms Appear, 2011, acrylic on canvas, 100x100cm
Rachael Adams' recent paintings explore visual conventions of the landscape that convey recalled anticipated events, describing that formation in the landscape where the visible and the anticipated overlap, collide or conflict. Her work goes to the heart of recent debates about true and false memories and in the psycho-geographical interpretations of the environment, in particular the liminal.
Adams lives and works in Brighton. She has MA Sequential Art, Univertisy of Brighton, 1996. Recent solo exhibitions include Fourteen Paintings, Former Stock Exchange, London EC2, 2012 and group exhibitions include East Sussex Open, Towner Gallery, Eastbourne, 2013; On The Map, Hastings Museum & Art Gallery, Hastings and National Open, Chichester, 2010.
