Polly Gould
2-31 May 2009

Polly Gould works with drawing, sound, video, photography and performance. She combines drawing and writing to examine the narrative urge in our lives; the things we say to each other, the way we end up quoting favorite books, living our lives like scenes from films, or finding the words of a popular song to do our talking for us. Her work is concerned with our relationships as speaking subjects exploring questions of voice, power, desire and memory. She was short listed for the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2007 with 'In the Asparagus Bed' which we are pleased to re-visit here in Transition ShopSpace.
