ABOUT PAINTING

To coincide with Working Against the System and Fade Away at Transition Gallery and in partnership with The University of Northumbria, Transition Editions have produced a 158 page publication which examines particular aspects of contemporary painting practice in detail.

The book includes essays by Barry Schwarbsky and the curator's of the respective shows - Helen Baker and Alli Sharma as well as information and images from all the artists who participated in the two shows, in depth texts by the Working Against the System artists, transcripts from the Working Against the System symposium and studio interviews with Fade Awayartists Phillip Allen, Paul Housley, Jo Wilmot, Claire Undy and Phoebe Unwin.
