Hayley Lock’s research interests concentrate on the occult and historical occult practices with a particular focus on female otherness within mediumistic practice, identities and locations.
At the centre of her practice is a core interest in the sense of an eternal state of transformation, as a way of escape from the real. She is currently undertaking a body of research that looks to archetypal and esoteric symbols along with Jungian phenomena that looks at the self, other and the wider world view through historical, psychological and material alchemy.
Hayley studied at The University of London, Goldsmiths College and The University of Essex and has shown work across the UK and beyond. Solo shows in the UK have included exhibitions in historic houses and at The Minories Gallery in Essex. Performances have taken place for the British Psychological Society in Senate House, London and with London Fortean Society at Conway Hall, as part of Art/Magic/Lore.
