Jennifer Caroline Campbell's paintings are lumpy, like too much eyeshadow. The surface holding the picture is awkwardly visible and chromatically encrusted. This crust is shard of transformation and tells a fragment of story. Fantastical, girly, mythological, camp, and psychedelic scenarios open imaginative sidepaths for the potential dismantling of hierarchies.
Campbell graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2014 with an MFA in painting and full AHRC scholarship. Solo exhibitions include GLAMOROUS at Outpost Gallery Norwich, Cake Options and Escape Options at Transition Projects, Ever After Slices at Atalante Gothenburg and Power Puff Princess at Marcell Joseph Projects London. Recent group exhibitions include Flat Volume at A.P.T Gallery London, Blusher at Leicester Gallery, The Look at Transition Projects London and Witch Marks at The Minories Colchester.
Campbell costs hosts Garageland Salon podcast with Cathy Lomax.
