Sense And Sensibility: Artists Take On History

9 May - 1 June 2003
Private View  Friday 9 May 6-8.30

Isha Bøhling

This work makes an anti-heroic gesture to the heroic tradition of painting, dominated by modernists in the 20th Century. The small scale of the work pokes fun at this notion questioning its significance. Whilst its materials reference beauty (a word negated by Clement Greenberg and his peers) and the everyday.
